Truly, it is the sending of the Lord of the Worlds. 192 It has been revealed through the trustworthy Spirit 193 To thy heart and mind, that thou mayest admonish. 194 in a clear, Arabic tongue. 195 And verily it is in the Scriptures of the ancients. 196 And has it not been a sign to them that it is recognized by the scholars of the Children of Israel? 197 And if We had revealed it unto one of any other nation than the Arabs, 198 they would still not have believed in it. 199 Thus have We caused it to enter into the hearts of the guilty. 200 They will not believe in it until they see the grievous Penalty; 201 that will come upon them [on resurrection,] all of a sudden, without their being aware [of its approach]; 202 And they will say, "May we be reprieved?" 203 Do they really want Our chastisement to be expedited? 204 What do you see? If We gave them enjoyment for years, 205 and thereupon that [chastisement] which they were promised befalls them 206 All that with which they used to enjoy shall not avail them. 207 And We did not destroy any city except that it had warners 208 for a reminder, and We never harmed. 209 The devils did not bring it down. 210 It is not allowable for them, nor would they be able. 211 Truly, they are expelled from hearing. 212 So call thou not upon another god with God, lest thou shouldst be one of those that are chastised. 213 And warn your nearest relations, 214 And be kind to him who follows you of the believers. 215 If they disobey you, tell them, "I condemn your disobedient deeds". 216 Put your trust in the Mighty One, the Merciful, 217 who sees thee when thou standest [alone,] 218 and when you turn among those who prostrate themselves. 219 He is the All Hearing, the All Knowing. 220 Shall I inform you upon whom the devils descend? 221 They descend upon every lying, sinful one, 222 They give ear, but most of them are liars. 223 And as for the poets -- it is the misled who follow them. 224 Have you not seen how they wander in every valley, 225 And how they say that which they do not? 226 The righteously striving believers among them who remember God very often and use their talent to seek help after they have been wronged are the exceptional. The unjust will soon know how terrible their end will be. 227
