And indeed, the Qur'an is the revelation of the Lord of the worlds. 192 Which the trusted spirit descended with 193 To thy heart and mind, that thou mayest admonish. 194 in a clear, Arabic tongue. 195 And indeed, it is [mentioned] in the scriptures of former peoples. 196 Was it not a sign for them known to the learned of the Children of Israel? 197 (But such is their adamance) that had We revealed it to one of the non-Arabs and even if he had recited (this clear Arabic discourse) to them 198 who would have read it to them, they (pagans) would not have believed in it. 199 Thus have We caused it (the denial of the Quran) to enter the hearts of the Mujrimun (criminals, polytheists, sinners, etc.). 200 They will not believe in it until they see the painful torment; 201 The torment will strike them suddenly without their knowledge. 202 and then they will say: 'Shall we be respited' 203 Would they then wish for Our Torment to be hastened on? 204 What thinkest thou? If We give them enjoyment of days for many years, 205 And then what they were promised comes upon them, 206 none of their luxuries will be able to save them from the torment? 207 Never have We destroyed a town without sending down messengers to warn it, 208 as a reminder from Us: We are never unjust. 209 The satans have not revealed the Quran; 210 Neither would it suit them, nor they can (produce it). 211 verily, [even] from hearing it are they utterly debarred! 212 So call not on any other god with Allah, or thou wilt be among those under the Penalty. 213 Warn your close relatives 214 and extend kindness and affection to those of the believers who follow you. 215 And if they disobey thee, say thou: verily I am quit of that which ye work. 216 And put thy trust in the Mighty, the Merciful. 217 Who seeth thee standing forth (in prayer), 218 and observes your movements among those who prostrate themselves. 219 Surely He is the Hearing, the Knowing. 220 Shall I inform you upon whom the devils descend? 221 They come to every sinful liar. 222 They pass on what is heard, and most of them are liars. 223 And the poets -- the perverse follow them; 224 Have you not seen how they wander in every valley, 225 And how they say that which they do not? 226 Save those that believe, and do righteous deeds, and remember God oft, and help themselves after being wronged; and those who do wrong shall surely know by what overturning they will be overturned. 227
