The Ant (Al-Naml)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Ta-Seen*; these are verses of the Qur’an and the clear Book. (Alphabets of the Arabic language – Allah, and to whomever he reveals, know their precise meanings.) 1 A guidance and good tidings for the believers, 2 Those who keep the prayer established and pay the charity and are certain of the Hereafter. 3 Indeed, for those who do not believe in the Hereafter, We have made pleasing to them their deeds, so they wander blindly. 4 It is they for whom a grievous chastisement lies in store; it is they who shall be the greatest losers in the Hereafter. 5 And verily thou art receiving the Qur'an from before the Wise, the Knowing. 6 (Remember) when Moosa said to his wife, “I have sighted a fire; I will soon bring its news to you, or bring for you an ember from it so that you may warm yourselves.” 7 So when he reached it, it was proclaimed, “Blessed is he who is in the location of the fire (Moosa) and those who are close to it (the angels); and Purity is to Allah, the Lord Of The Creation.” 8 O Moses, verily this is Me, Allah, the All-Mighty, the All-Wise! 9 "Now do thou throw thy rod!" But when he saw it moving (of its own accord) as if it had been a snake, he turned back in retreat, and retraced not his steps: "O Moses!" (it was said), "Fear not: truly, in My presence, those called as messengers have no fear,- 10 Otherwise, he who wrongs, then substitutes good after evil - indeed, I am Forgiving and Merciful. 11 Put your hand into your pocket. It will come out sheer white but unharmed. This is one of the nine miracles which shall be showing to the Pharaoh and his people; they are truly wicked men." 12 But when Our signs came to them in all their clarity they said, "This is clearly sorcery!" 13 And they denied them unjustly and proudly while their soul had been convinced of them; consider, then how was the end of the mischief-makers. 14
