The Spider (Al-Ankaboot)

In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ Alif, Lam, Meem 1 Do the people think that they will be left to say, "We believe" and they will not be tried? 2 We certainly tried those who have gone before them, so God will certainly distinguish between those who are truthful and those who are lying. 3 Do those who do evil imagine that they will escape Us? How ill they judge! 4 He who hopes to meet God should know that God's appointed hour is sure to come. He is the All Hearing, the All Knowing. 5 Whosoever struggles, struggles only to his own gain; surely God is All-sufficient nor needs any being. 6 And those who accepted faith and did good deeds – We will indeed relieve their sins and reward them for the best of their deeds. 7 And We have enjoined on man goodness to his parents, and if they contend with you that you should associate (others) with Me, of which you have no knowledge, do not obey them, to Me is your return, so I will inform you of what you did. 8 We shall admit the righteously striving believers into the company of the pious ones. 9 And among men is he who says: We believe in Allah; but when he is persecuted in (the way of) Allah he thinks the persecution of men to be as the chastisement of Allah; and if there come assistance from your Lord, they would most certainly say: Surely we were with you. What! is not Allah the best knower of what is in the breasts of mankind. 10 God surely knows the believers, and He knows the hypocrites. 11 And those who disbelieve say to those who believe: Follow our path and we will bear your wrongs. And never shall they be the bearers of any of their wrongs; most surely they are liars. 12 And surely they shall bear their loads and other loads beside their own loads, and surely they shall be questioned on the Day of Resurrection concerning that which they were wont to fabricate. 13

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
