The Spider (Al-Ankaboot)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ Alif Lam Mim. 1 Do men think that they will be left alone on saying, "We believe", and that they will not be tested? 2 We did test those before them, and Allah will certainly know those who are true from those who are false. 3 Or do those who do evil deeds think they can outrun Us? Evil is what they judge. 4 He who hopes to meet God should know that God's appointed hour is sure to come. He is the All Hearing, the All Knowing. 5 And whoever strives, strives only for himself, God is independent of all His creation, 6 As for those who believe and do good works, We shall acquit them of their sins, and recompense them with the best for what they were doing. 7 We have charged the human to be kind to his parents. But if they bid you to associate with Me that which you have no knowledge, do not obey them. To Me you will return, and I shall inform you of all that you have done. 8 But as for those who have attained to faith and have done righteous deeds, We shall most certainly cause them to join the righteous [in the hereafter as well]. 9 Some profess to believe in God, but when they suffer for God's cause they mistake the persecution of man for the punishment of God. But when help comes to you from God, they will say, "We have always been with you." Is not God fully aware of what is in the hearts of all creatures? 10 Verily, Allah knows those who believe, and verily, He knows the hypocrites [i.e. Allah will test the people with good and hard days to discriminate the good from the wicked (although Allah knows all that before putting them to test)]. 11 And those who disbelieve say unto those who believe: follow our way, and we shall surely bear your sins; whereas they shall not bear aught of their sins; verily they are the liars. 12 Yet most certainly will they have to bear their own burdens, and other burdens besides their own; and most certainly will they be called to account on Resurrection Day for all their false assertions! 13
