And assuredly We sent Nuh unto his people. Then he tarried among them for a thousand years, save fifty years; and then deluge overtook them, while they were wrong-doers. 14 And We rescued him and the people aboard the ship, and made the ship a sign for the entire world. 15 And We sent Ibrahim. Recall what time he said unto his people: worship Allah, and fear Him; that is best for you if ye but knew. 16 You worship idols besides God and fabricate falsehoods. Those whom you worship besides God have no power to provide sustenance for you. So seek your sustenance from God and worship Him and be grateful to Him, for to Him you shall return. 17 And if you [people] deny [the message] - already nations before you have denied. And there is not upon the Messenger except [the duty of] clear notification. 18 See they not how Allah originates creation, then repeats it. Verily, that is easy for Allah. 19 (Muhammad), say to them, "Travel through the land and see how He has begun the creation and how He will invent the next life. God has power over all things. 20 He punishes whomever He wills and has mercy upon whomever He wills; and towards Him only you are to return. 21 Ye cannot escape (from Him) in the earth or in the sky, and beside Allah there is for you no friend or helper. 22
