Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Alif Lam Mim. 1 These are the verses of the Book of wisdom. 2 As guidance and mercy for the doers of good 3 who establish Prayer and pay Zakah, and have firm faith in the Hereafter. 4 Such have guidance from their Lord. Such are the successful. 5 And of mankind is he who payeth for mere pastime of discourse, that he may mislead from Allah's way without knowledge, and maketh it the butt of mockery. For such there is a shameful doom. 6 When Our verses are recited to him, he turns his back in pride, as though he never heard them, and in his ears was heaviness. Give glad tidings to him of a painful punishment! 7 Verily, those who believe (in Islamic Monotheism) and do righteous good deeds, for them are Gardens of delight (Paradise). 8 They will abide in them for ever. The promise of God is true; and He is all-mighty and all-wise. 9 He created the heavens without any pillars visible to you and He placed mountains in the earth as pegs lest it should turn topsy turvy with you, and He dispersed all kinds of animals over the earth, and sent down water from the sky causing all kinds of excellent plants to grow on it. 10 This is the creation of Allah; shew me that which those beside Him have created. Aye! the wrong-doers are in error manifest. 11
