Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Alif, Lam, Meem. 1 Those are the signs of the Wise Book 2 A guidance and a mercy for the doers of goodness, 3 Those who establish the prayer and give the poor-rate and of the Hereafter are convinced. 4 These are on (true) guidance from their Lord: and these are the ones who will prosper. 5 And some people buy words of play, in order to mislead from Allah’s path, without knowledge; and to make it an article of mockery; for them is a disgraceful punishment. 6 And when Our Verses (of the Quran) are recited to such a one, he turns away in pride, as if he heard them not, as if there were deafness in his ear. So announce to him a painful torment. 7 [As against this,] verily, those who attain to faith and do righteous deeds shall have gardens of bliss, 8 They shall abide in them forever. This is Allah's promise that shall come true. He is the Most Powerful, the Most Wise. 9 He has created the heavens without pillar as you can see, fixed the mountains on earth so that it may not shake you away, and settled therein all types of living creatures. We have sent down water from the sky and made all kinds of plants grow in gracious pairs. 10 This is God's creation; now show me what those have created that are apart from Him! Nay, but the evildoers are in manifest error. 11
