Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Alif Lam Mim 1 These are the verses of the Book of wisdom. 2 a guidance and a mercy to those who do good, 3 Those who establish worship and pay the poor-due and have sure faith in the Hereafter. 4 Those are guided by their Lord and will surely prosper. 5 And of mankind is he who payeth for mere pastime of discourse, that he may mislead from Allah's way without knowledge, and maketh it the butt of mockery. For such there is a shameful doom. 6 And when Our Verses (of the Quran) are recited to such a one, he turns away in pride, as if he heard them not, as if there were deafness in his ear. So announce to him a painful torment. 7 The righteously striving believers will enter Paradise 8 therein to dwell forever -- God's promise in truth; and He is the All-mighty, the All-wise. 9 He [it is who] has created the skies without any supports that you could see, and has placed firm mountains upon the earth, lest it sway with you, and has caused all manner of living creatures to multiply thereon. And We send down water from the skies, and thus We cause every noble kind [of life] to grow on earth. 10 Such is the Creation of Allah: now show Me what is there that others besides Him have created: nay, but the Transgressors are in manifest error. 11
