There is a sign in the dead earth for them which We quicken, and produce from it grain which they eat. 33 And there We made gardens of palms and vines, and in it We caused fountains to gush forth, 34 So that they may eat of the fruit thereof, and their hands made it not. Will they not, then, give thanks? 35 Holy is He who created all things in pairs; of what the earth grows, and of themselves, and other things which they do not know. 36 And a sign to them is the night: We draw forth from it the day, then lo! they are in the dark; 37 And the sun runneth to its appointed term: that is the disposition of the Mighty, the Knowing. 38 And the moon - We have determined for it phases, until it returns [appearing] like the old date stalk. 39 It is not for the sun to overtake the moon, nor doth the night outstrip the day. They float each in an orbit. 40 Another sign for them is that We carried their offspring in the laden Ark. 41 And We have created for them the like of it, what they will ride on. 42 We drown them if We will, then they have none to cry to, nor can they be saved, 43 save as a mercy from Us, and enjoyment for a while. 44 When it is said to them: 'Have fear of that which is before you and behind you in order that you find mercy' 45 Yet there never comes to them any sign of their Lord's signs, but they turn away from it. 46 When they are told to spend for the cause of God out of what He has provided for them for their sustenance, the disbelievers say to the believers, "Should we feed those whom God has decided to feed? You are in plain error." 47 And they say: when will this promise be fulfilled if ye say sooth? 48 They will not have to wait long. When the Day of Judgment comes, it will only take a single blast of sound to strike them while they are quarrelling with one another. 49 And they will not be able [to give] any instruction, nor to their people can they return. 50
