The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
O you who are clothed! 1 arise and warn, 2 proclaim the greatness of your Lord, 3 And your clothing purify 4 And all defilement shun! 5 Do not give, thinking to gain greater 6 and for the sake of your Lord, be patient. 7 And [warn all men that] when the trumpet-call [of resurrection] is sounded, 8 That shall be - that Day - a day hard. 9 Far from easy for the disbelievers. 10 Leave Me (to deal) with him whom I created lonely, 11 And for whom I appointed wealth extended. 12 And sons present by his side. 13 I made things smooth and easy for him, 14 and who still greedily desires that I should bestow upon him more. 15 Not at all! Surely, he has been disobedient to Our verses. 16 I will make a distressing punishment overtake him. 17 He planned and plotted. 18 So accursed be he, how evilly did he decide! 19 Again, death seized him, how was his determining! 20 He looked (at others); 21 frowned and scowled; 22 then he retreated and waxed proud, 23 and said, "This is nothing but sorcery from the ancients. 24 “This is nothing but the speech of a man.” 25 I will cast him into hell. 26 And what do you know what Hell is? 27 It does not allow to live, and neither leaves [to die,] 28 it scorches (even) the skin. 29 Over it are appointed nineteen. 30 And We have not made the keepers of the Fire except angels. And We have not made their number except as a trial for those who disbelieve - that those who were given the Scripture will be convinced and those who have believed will increase in faith and those who were given the Scripture and the believers will not doubt and that those in whose hearts is hypocrisy and the disbelievers will say, "What does Allah intend by this as an example?" Thus does Allah leave astray whom He wills and guides whom He wills. And none knows the soldiers of your Lord except Him. And mention of the Fire is not but a reminder to humanity. 31
