The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By those (angels) ranged in ranks (or rows). 1 And by oath of those who herd with a stern warning. 2 And thus proclaim the Message (of Allah)! 3 Verily your God is One. 4 Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them – and the Lord of the sun’s rising points. 5 We have adorned the lowest heaven with the beauty of the planets; 6 With security from every froward devil. 7 So that they are not able to listen to the angels of higher (echelons), and are pelted from all sides 8 Repelled; and for them is a constant punishment, 9 Except him who snatches off but once, then there follows him a brightly shining flame. 10 So ask them (that is, human beings): “Were they harder to create than the objects We created?” We created them from sticky clay. 11 Rather you are surprised, whereas they keep mocking. 12 And when they are warned they pay no heed. 13 When they are shown a sign, they scoff at it 14 And they say, “This is nothing but clear magic.” 15 When we are dead and turned to dust and bones, how can we be raised again, 16 "And also our fathers of old?" 17 Say: 'Yes, and in all lowliness.' 18 So that is just a single jolt, thereupon they will begin staring. 19 And they will say: Ah! woe be unto us! this is the Day of Requital. 20 [And they will be told:] "This is the Day of Distinction [between the true and the false - the Day] which you were wont to call a lie!" 21
