The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
I swear by those who draw themselves out in ranks 1 By the angels driving away. 2 and by the reciters of the Reminder: 3 that your Lord is the only Lord. 4 Lord of the heavens and of the earth, and all that is between them, and Lord of every point of the sun's risings. (None has the right to be worshipped but Allah). 5 Lo! We have adorned the lowest heaven with an ornament, the planets; 6 With security from every froward devil. 7 (So) they should not strain their ears in the direction of the Exalted Assembly but be cast away from every side, 8 rejected, and theirs is an everlasting chastisement, 9 But if anyone does succeed in snatching a glimpse [of such knowledge], he shall be pursued by a piercing flame. 10 So ask them (that is, human beings): “Were they harder to create than the objects We created?” We created them from sticky clay. 11 Yet while you are filled with wonder, they just scoff; 12 They pay no attention when they are reminded 13 And, when they see a Sign, turn it to mockery, 14 And they say: "This is nothing but evident magic! 15 When we have died and become dust and bones, are we indeed to be resurrected? 16 And our fathers too?" 17 Say, "Yes, and you will be [rendered] contemptible." 18 Then it will be a single (compelling) cry; and behold, they will begin to see! 19 And they will say: Ah! woe be unto us! this is the Day of Requital. 20 This is the Day of Decision which you belied. 21
