۞ But We shall say, "Assemble those who did wrong together with their associates and what they worshipped 22 instead of God, and lead them all onto the way to the blazing fire, 23 And stop them, for they shall be questioned: 24 What aileth you that ye succour not one another? 25 indeed, on that Day they will surrender themselves. 26 And some of them will confront the others, 27 These say, 'Why, you of old would come to us from the right hand.' 28 But they reply: 'Rather, you were not believers. 29 we had no authority over you; no, you were an insolent people. 30 Now the Word of our Lord hath been fulfilled concerning us. Lo! we are about to taste (the doom). 31 Thus we misled you. Lo! we were (ourselves) astray. 32 On that Day, they will all share the chastisement. 33 As such We shall deal with the evildoers. 34 Verily when it was said unto them: there is no god but Allah, they ever grew stiff-necked. 35 saying, 'What, shall we forsake our gods for a poet possessed?' 36 Rather, the Prophet has come with the truth and confirmed the [previous] messengers. 37 Verily, you (pagans of Makkah) are going to taste the painful torment; 38 and not be recompensed, except according to what you were doing.' 39 Not so, however, God's true servants: 40 there is waiting for them a known provision; 41 Fruits (Delights); and they (shall enjoy) honour and dignity, 42 In Gardens of Felicity, 43 On couches facing one another; 44 A cup from a gushing spring is brought round for them, 45 white, a delight to the drinkers, 46 wherein no sickness is, neither intoxication; 47 And with them will be women limiting [their] glances, with large, [beautiful] eyes, 48 (Delicate and pure) as if they were (hidden) eggs (well) preserved. 49 And they will approach one another, inquiring of each other. 50 One of them will say: “I had a companion in the world 51 who would say: "Are you among the believers (of the resurrection)? 52 What! when we are dead and have become dust and bones, shall we then be certainly brought to judgment? 53 He said (to others on the thrones), “Will you take a glimpse (into hell) below?” 54 He therefore looked down and saw him amidst the blazing fire. 55 He said: "By Allah! thou wast little short of bringing me to perdition! 56 "Had it not been for the Grace of my Lord, I should certainly have been among those brought (there)! 57 (Another will say:)"Is it true, we are not going to die 58 except for our first death, and are we not chastised? 59 Truly, this is the supreme success! 60 for the like of this let the workers work.' 61 Is such [a paradise] the better welcome - or the [hellish] tree of deadly fruit? 62 We have made this tree a trial for the wrong-doers. 63 It is a tree that grows at the bottom of Hell. 64 and its fruits are like devils' heads. 65 So indeed they will eat from it, and fill their bellies with it. 66 And afterward, lo! thereupon they have a drink of boiling water 67 They can only return to hell. 68 for, behold, they found their forebears on a wrong way, 69 But they make haste (to follow) in their footsteps. 70 And there had already strayed before them most of the former peoples, 71 And verily We sent among them warners. 72 Look, then how was the end of those who had been warned, 73 Only Our sincere servants were saved. 74
