۞ Gather together those who were unjust and their associates, and what they used to worship 22 besides God, and show them the way of hell. 23 And stop them; verily they are to be questioned: 24 "What is the matter with you that you do not help each other?" 25 No, today they will resign themselves in submission, 26 And they will turn to one another and question one another. 27 They will say: "It was you who used to come to us from the right side [i.e. from the right side of one of us and beautify for us every evil, order us for polytheism, and stop us from the truth i.e. Islamic Monotheism and from every good deed]." 28 They answer: Nay, but ye (yourselves) were not believers. 29 And we had over you no authority, but you were a transgressing people. 30 and so we became deserving of the Word of our Lord that we shall be made to suffer chastisement. 31 We led you astray as we were ourselves astray." 32 So verily on that Day they all in the torment will be sharers. 33 Even so We do with the sinners; 34 For when it was said unto them, There is no Allah save Allah, they were scornful 35 And said: Shall we forsake our gods for a mad poet? 36 Nay, but he brought the Truth, and he confirmed those sent (before him). 37 Most surely you will taste the painful punishment. 38 But it will be no more than the retribution of (the Evil) that ye have wrought;- 39 But the sincere (and devoted) Servants of Allah,- 40 For them there is a known provision, 41 Fruits, and they shall be highly honored, 42 In Gardens of Felicity, 43 On thrones, facing each other. 44 A bowl shall be made to go round them from water running out of springs, 45 White, delicious to those who drink. 46 Neither dulling the senses nor intoxicating, 47 And with them will be chaste females, restraining their glances (desiring none except their husbands), with wide and beautiful eyes. 48 As if they were eggs carefully protected. 49 Then they will advance unto each other, mutually questioning. 50 The speaker among them said, “I had a companion.” – 51 'Do you believe in the Day of Judgment? 52 When we are dead and turned to dust and bones, shall we be recompensed?" 53 Allah will say: will ye look down? 54 Then, he will look and see him in the midst of Hell. 55 He will say, "By Allah, you almost ruined me. 56 Had it not been for the grace of my Lord I too would have been there (in Hell). 57 But then, [O my friends in paradise,] is it [really] so that we are not to die 58 Other than our first death, and we shall not be punished? 59 Most surely this is the mighty achievement. 60 For the like of this let the workers [on earth] work. 61 Is that better by way of hospitality or the Zaqqum tree, 62 which We have made as a torment for the unjust? 63 It is a tree that grows from the bottom of Hell; 64 Its fruit like the heads of demons. 65 and they eat of it, and of it fill their bellies, 66 Then after it, indeed for them is the drink of boiling hot water. 67 And once again: Verily, the blazing fire is their ultimate goal 68 They indeed found their fathers astray, 69 So in their footsteps they are being hastened on. 70 So had many an earlier people gone astray, 71 though We had sent warners among them. 72 Then see what was the end of those who were admonished (but heeded not),- 73 Other than the chosen creatures of God. 74
