۞ (God will command the angels), "Gather together the unjust, their spouses, and what they had worshipped 22 Beside Allah, and lead them on to the path of the Flaming Fire. 23 and detain them there; they will be called to account. 24 What is the matter with you that you do not help each other? 25 Nay, but that day they shall submit (to Judgment); 26 And some of them will confront the others, 27 They will say, "You used to come at us from the right." 28 They will say, "No! It was you who would not believe -- 29 And we had over you no authority, but ye were a people exorbitant. 30 Now the Word of our Lord hath been fulfilled concerning us. Lo! we are about to taste (the doom). 31 we perverted you, indeed, we were perverts' 32 On that Day, they will all share the chastisement. 33 Lo! thus deal We with the guilty. 34 for when it was said to them, 'There is no god but God,' they were ever waxing proud, 35 and said: 'Are we to renounce our gods for the sake of a mad poet' 36 'No indeed; but he brought the truth, and confirmed the Envoys. 37 You shall certainly taste the painful punishment: 38 And you shall not be rewarded except (for) what you did. 39 Except for God's sincere servants; 40 Those will have a provision determined - 41 Fruits (Delights); and they (shall enjoy) honour and dignity, 42 In Gardens of peace. 43 On couches facing one another; 44 Round them will be passed a cup of pure wine; 45 white and delicious to those who drink it, 46 Wherein there is no headache nor are they made mad thereby. 47 And with them will be women limiting [their] glances, with large, [beautiful] eyes, 48 As though they were eggs hidden. 49 Then they will turn to one another and question one another. 50 The speaker among them said, “I had a companion.” – 51 who would say: "Are you among the believers (of the resurrection)? 52 after we die and become dust and bones, we shall be brought to judgement?'" 53 [And] he adds: "Would you like to look [and see him]?" 54 Then he looked down and saw him in the midst of hell. 55 He will say, "By Allah, you almost ruined me. 56 Had I not the guidance of my Lord, I would certainly have been brought into torment". 57 Then he will say [to his blessed companions], "Are we not going to die, 58 Except our previous death? And we shall not be chastised? 59 Truly, this is the supreme success! 60 For the like of it should the workers work. 61 Is Paradise a better accommodation or the tree of zaqqum? 62 Verily We! We have made it a temptation for the wrong-doers. 63 Lo! it is a tree that springeth in the heart of hell. 64 its spathes are as the heads of Satans, 65 And lo! they verily must eat thereof, and fill (their) bellies therewith. 66 Then after it, indeed for them is the drink of boiling hot water. 67 And thereafter verily their return is unto the Flaming Fire. 68 Indeed they found their fathers astray. 69 yet they run in their footsteps, 70 And verily most of the men of old went astray before them, 71 And verily We sent among them warners. 72 Then see what was the end of those who were warned (but heeded not). 73 Not so the chosen servants of God. 74
