۞ But We shall say, "Assemble those who did wrong together with their associates and what they worshipped 22 apart from Allah, and direct them to the path of Hell, 23 “And stop them they are to be questioned.” 24 What aileth you that ye succour not one another? 25 But they, that Day, are in surrender. 26 And they will turn to one another, and question one another. 27 They shall say: Surely you used to come to us from the right side. 28 Others will respond, "It was you who did not want to have any faith. 29 We had no power over you. You were a rebellious people, 30 So the sentence of our Lord has come to pass against us: (now) we shall surely taste; 31 “We therefore led you astray, for we ourselves were astray!” 32 So, they will become partners in punishment. 33 As such We shall deal with the evildoers. 34 They were the ones, who on being told, "God is only One," become puffed-up with pride 35 and said: “Shall we forsake our deities for the sake of a distracted poet?” 36 Nay! he has come with the (very) Truth, and he confirms (the Message of) the messengers (before him). 37 Verily, you (pagans of Makkah) are going to taste the painful torment; 38 and be rewarded only according to your deeds." 39 But the sincere (and devoted) Servants of Allah,- 40 For them is a known sustenance, 41 a variety of delicious fruits; and they shall be honoured 42 in gardens of bliss, 43 facing one another [in love] upon thrones of happiness. 44 Cups of wine will be presented to them in rounds, from a spring flowing in front of them. 45 White, delicious for the drinkers. 46 Neither does it intoxicate, nor give a headache. 47 And besides them will be chaste women, restraining their glances, with big eyes (of wonder and beauty). 48 as if they were hidden pearls. 49 They will turn to one another with questions: 50 Said one of the speakers: "I had a friend 51 who would say, "Are you a confirmer? 52 After we are dead and have become all dust and bones shall we still be requited?' 53 He shall say: Will you look on? 54 And he will look and see him in the midst of the Hellfire. 55 He said, “By Allah, you had nearly ruined me!” 56 And but for the favour of my lord, I should have been of those brought forward. 57 So, are we not going to die, 58 except for our first death? And shall we suffer no chastisement?'” 59 This will indeed be great happiness. 60 For the like of this let the workers work. 61 Is this a better hospitality or the tree of al-Zaqqum? 62 Surely We have made it to be a trial to the unjust. 63 Indeed it is a tree that sprouts from the base of hell. 64 Its fruit like the heads of demons. 65 And lo! they verily must eat thereof, and fill (their) bellies therewith. 66 Then after it, indeed for them is the drink of boiling hot water. 67 And afterward, lo! their return is surely unto hell. 68 They found their father going astray 69 So in their footsteps they are being hastened on. 70 Most of the ancient people had also gone astray. 71 And indeed We had sent Heralds of warnings among them. 72 Therefore see what sort of fate befell those who were warned! 73 Except the servants of Allah, the purified ones. 74
