Noah called for help. How blessed was the answer which he received. 75 We saved him and his family from the great affliction, 76 And We preserved his descendants. 77 And left for him among the later folk (the salutation): 78 Peace and salutation to Nuh among the nations. 79 Verily We! thus We recompense the well-doers. 80 he was one of Our believing worshipers. 81 [and so We saved him and those who followed him] and then We caused the others to drown. 82 ۞ Verily among those who followed his Way was Abraham. 83 When he came to his Lord with a heart compliant, 84 [And] when he said to his father and his people, "What do you worship? 85 Is it a falsehood-god beside Allah that ye desire? 86 "Then what do you think about the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns, and all that exists)?" 87 Then he glanced a glance on the stars. 88 He then said, “I feel sick (of you)!” 89 So they turned away from him, and departed. 90 Thereupon he approached their gods stealthily and said, "What! You do not eat [of the offerings placed before you]? 91 What is the matter with you, that you do not speak' 92 And he turned upon them a blow with [his] right hand. 93 Then came (the worshippers) with hurried steps, and faced (him). 94 "Why do you worship these you carve yourselves," he asked, 95 and God created you and what you make?' 96 They exclaimed: "Build a pyre for him, and cast him into the blazing fire!" 97 So they tried to execute their evil scheme upon him We therefore degraded them. (Allah saved him, by commanding the fire to turn cool). 98 And he said (after his rescue from the fire): "Verily, I am going to my Lord. He will guide me!" 99 "O my Lord! Grant me a righteous (son)!" 100 So We gave him the glad tidings of a forbearing boy. 101 And when he reached with him [the age of] exertion, he said, "O my son, indeed I have seen in a dream that I [must] sacrifice you, so see what you think." He said, "O my father, do as you are commanded. You will find me, if Allah wills, of the steadfast." 102 Then when the twain had submitted themselves and he had prostrated him upon his temple. 103 We called out to him: "O Abraham, 104 thou hast already fulfilled [the purpose of] that dream-vision!" Thus, verily, do We reward the doers of good: 105 That was indeed a trying test. 106 And We ransomed him with a great sacrifice (i.e. a ram); 107 And We kept his praise among the latter generations. 108 Peace be upon Ibrahim! 109 Thus do We reward the good. 110 He is indeed one of Our high ranking, firmly believing bondmen. 111 And We gave him the glad tidings of Ishaq, a Herald of the Hidden, from among those who deserve Our proximity. 112 And We blessed him and Isaac. And of their seed are some who do good, and some who plainly wrong themselves. 113
