We also bestowed Our favour on Moses and Aaron: 114 And saved them and their people from great distress, 115 And We supported them so it was they who overcame. 116 And We gave them the divine writ that made [right and wrong] distinct, 117 And showed them the straight path, 118 And We left for the twain among the posterity: 119 Peace be unto Musa and Harun. 120 Verily We! thus We recompense the well-doers. 121 Surely both of them were among Our believing servants. 122 And indeed, Elias was from among the messengers, 123 When he said to his people: "Will you not be mindful of God? 124 "Will ye call upon Baal and forsake the Best of Creators,- 125 who is your Lord and the Lord of your forefathers?" 126 But they cried him lies; so they will be among the arraigned, 127 But not the servants of Allah, the purified ones. 128 And we left for him among the later folk (the salutation): 129 Salamun (peace) be upon Ilyasin (Elias)!" 130 Verily, thus do We reward the Muhsinun (good-doers, who perform good deeds totally for Allah's sake only - see V. 2:112). 131 For he was one of our believing Servants. 132 Lot was also one of the messengers. 133 When We rescued him and his entire household. 134 Except an old woman who was one of those who stayed behind. 135 Then We totally destroyed the others. 136 You pass by (their ruined town) in the morning 137 And at night-time; have ye then no sense? 138
