We certainly bestowed Our favor upon Moses and Aaron 114 And saved them and their people from great distress, 115 And helped them, so that they became the victors; 116 and We gave them the Manifesting Book, 117 And We led the twain on unto the straight path. 118 And left (their remembrance) for posterity. 119 Peace be on Moses and Aaron. 120 Verily, thus do We reward the Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 121 Verily the twain were of Our bondmen believing. 122 So also was Elias among those sent (by Us). 123 When he said to his people: "Will you not fear Allah? 124 Call ye upon Bal and forsake the Best of creators. 125 Allah is your Lord and the Lord of your fathers, the ancients' 126 But they called him a liar, therefore they shall most surely be brought up. 127 Except the chosen creatures of God. 128 And we left for him among the later folk (the salutation): 129 Peace be with the followers of Elias. 130 Verily, thus do We reward the doers of good 131 Verily he was one of Our bondmen believing. 132 And indeed, Lot was among the messengers. 133 We rescued him and his whole family, 134 Except his wife among those who remained [with the evildoers]. 135 and We destroyed the rest. 136 You pass by (their ruined town) in the morning 137 and in the night; will you not understand? 138
