Hizb 46
< random >
And, verily, Yunus (Jonah) was one of the Messengers. 139 Call to mind when he fled to the laden ship, 140 and cast lots, and was of the rebutted, 141 The fish then swallowed him and he blamed himself. (For not waiting for Allah’s command.) 142 and had he not been among those who exalt (Allah), 143 he would certainly have remained inside the fish till the Day of Resurrection. 144 ۞ Then We cast him on to the vacant surface of the earth while he was sick. 145 and We caused a gourd tree to grow over him. 146 We sent him as a messenger to a hundred thousand people or more, 147 And they believed; so We permitted them to enjoy (their life) for a while. 148 Now ask thou them: are there for thy Lord daughters and for them sons? 149 Or, did We create the angels females while they were witnessing? 150 Oh, verily, it is out of their own [inclination to] falsehood that some people assert, 151 " Allah has begotten," and indeed, they are liars. 152 Has He chosen daughters over sons? 153 “What is the matter with you? What sort of a judgement you impose!” 154 Why do you not reflect? 155 Or have you clear evidence? 156 Then bring your scripture, if what you say is true. 157 They have established a kinship between Allah and the angels; and the angels know well that these people will be arraigned (as culprits). 158 Glorified be Allah from that which they attribute (unto Him), 159 except for the sincere worshipers of Allah. 160 For, verily, neither ye nor those ye worship- 161 you shall tempt none against Him 162 Save him who will go to hell. 163 There is not one of us (angels) but has his known place (or position); 164 Lo! we, even we are they who set the ranks, 165 and we glorify God". 166 And they surely were wont to say: 167 Had we a reminder from those of yore, 168 We would have been the chosen servants of Allah." 169 They have rejected the Quran. They will soon know the consequences (of their disbelief). 170 And assuredly Our word hath already gone forth Our bondmen, the sent ones: 171 That they would certainly be assisted, 172 and Our armies shall be the victors. 173 Therefore turn away from them till a time, 174 and see them [for what they are]; and in time they [too] will come to see [what they do not see now]. 175 Do they wish (indeed) to hurry on our Punishment? 176 When it descends on their courtyards, how terrible that morning will be for those who were warned! 177 And turn thou aside from them for a season. 178 and see; soon they shall see! 179 Exalted is your Lord, the Lord of might, above what they describe. 180 Peace be on the Messengers. 181 And all praise to God, the Lord of all the worlds. 182
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
