Hizb 46
< random >
Verily Jonah is one of the apostles. 139 When he ran to the laden ship, 140 So he shared (with them), but was of those who are cast off. 141 Then a fish swallowed him, and he was blameworthy. 142 And had he not been of those who hallow Him, 143 he would have lingered in its belly till the Day they are resurrected. 144 ۞ So We cast him, sick, on a barren shore, 145 and caused a creeping plant to grow over him [out of the barren soil]. 146 We sent him to a hundred thousand men or more, 147 and they believed. So We let them enjoy life for a while. 148 Now ask them their opinion: Is it that thy Lord has (only) daughters, and they have sons?- 149 Or did We create the angels females while they were witnesses? 150 Unquestionably, it is out of their [invented] falsehood that they say, 151 'Allah has begotten' They are truly liars. 152 "He has chosen daughters in preference to sons"! 153 Woe to you! How terrible is your Judgment. 154 Then will you not be reminded? 155 Or, do you have a clear authority? 156 Then bring your scripture, if what you say is true. 157 And they imagine kinship between him and the jinn, whereas the jinn know well that they will be brought before (Him). 158 Exaltations to Allah above what they describe, 159 Except the chosen bondmen of Allah. 160 So you and your deities 161 You cannot make anyone rebel against Him. 162 except those who are doomed to enter hell. 163 [The angels say], "Every single one of us has his place assigned: 164 "And we are truly those who stand in rows, 165 we are they that give glory. 166 They used to say before: 167 "If we had had with us a Book like that of the people of old, 168 Surely we would have been the bondmen of God sincere. 169 Yet they disbelieve therein. Presently they shall come to know. 170 And Our word has already preceded for Our servants, the messengers, 171 That they verily would be made triumphant. 172 And that Our forces,- they surely must conquer. 173 So, [O Muhammad], leave them for a time. 174 And (then) see them, so they too shall see. 175 Do they really wish to hasten Our punishment? 176 But when it cometh home to them, then it will be a hapless morn for those who have been warned. 177 So turn away from them for a time 178 And wait, for they will soon see. 179 Glory be to your Lord: the Lord of Glory is far above what they attribute to Him. 180 And peace be upon all His message-bearers! 181 And all praise to God, the Lord of all the worlds. 182
True are the words of God the Almighty.
