Elucidated (Fussilat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
HA MIM. 1 This (Qur’an) is sent down from the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. 2 A Book the verses of which are explained in detail, the Qur’an in Arabic for people of intellect. 3 It bears glad tidings and a warning, yet most of them turn away and do not listen. 4 And say: "Our hearts are immured against what you call us to. There is a deafness in our ears, and a veil lies between us and you. So act (your way), we are acting (ours)." 5 Say: "I am a man like you, (but) it is revealed to me that your God is one God, so take the straight path to Him, and ask Him to forgive your sins. Woe to the idolaters 6 Those who do not give the obligatory charity, and who deny the Hereafter. 7 For those who believe and work deeds of righteousness is a reward that will never fail. 8
