Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Ha, Meem. 1 By the Book that makes things clear, 2 Surely We have made it an Arabic Quran that you may understand. 3 and behold, it is in the Essence of the Book, with Us; sublime indeed, wise. 4 Shall We then take away the Message from you and repel (you), for that ye are a people transgressing beyond bounds? 5 And how many a prophet did We send to people of olden times! 6 And there came not to them a prophet but they mocked at him. 7 so We destroyed men stronger in valour than they, and the example of the ancients passed away. 8 If you ask them, "Who has created the heavens and the earth?", they will surely answer, "The Almighty, the All Knowing One has created them." 9 He who appointed the earth to be a cradle for you, and appointed ways for you therein, that haply you may be guided; 10 And Who sends down water (rain) from the sky in due measure. Then We revive a dead land therewith, and even so you will be brought forth (from the dead), 11 He Who created these pairs, all of them, and provided you ships and cattle on which you ride, 12 so that perhaps when you ride them, you will recall the bounties of your Lord and when you establish your control over it you would say, "Glory belongs to Him who has made it subservient to us when we would not have been able to do so ourselves. 13 To our Lord we shall all return". 14 Yet they have made some of His servants a part of Him. Indeed man is most evidently thankless. 15
