۞ And when the son of Maryam (Mary) is quoted as an example [i.e. 'Iesa (Jesus) is worshipped like their idols), behold! Your people cry aloud (laugh out at the example). 57 And say: "Are our deities better or he?" They say this only for disputing. Surely they are a contentious people. 58 He is purely a bondman (of Ours), whom We have favoured upon, and We made him an extraordinary example for the Descendants of Israel. 59 If We pleased We could have put angels in place of you as trustees on the earth. 60 And lo! verily there is knowledge of the Hour. So doubt ye not concerning it, but follow Me. This is the right path. 61 And let not the Shaitan prevent you; surely he is your open enemy. 62 When Jesus came with Clear Signs, he said: "Now have I come to you with Wisdom, and in order to make clear to you some of the (points) on which ye dispute: therefore fear Allah and obey me. 63 Surely Allah is my Lord and your Lord, therefore serve Him; this is the right path: 64 But certain groups created differences among themselves. Woe to the unjust. They will face a painful torment. 65 They await but the Hour: that it should come upon them of a sudden, while they perceive not. 66 Friends on that Day will be foes one to another except Al-Muttaqun (pious - see V. 2:2). 67
