۞ And when the son of Mary is cited as an example, behold, thy people turn away from it 57 And they say, “Are our deities better or he?” They did not say this to you except to unjustly argue; in fact they are a quarrelsome people. 58 He was no more than a servant (of Ours), one upon whom We bestowed Our favours and whom We made an example (of Our infinite power) for the Children of Israel. 59 And if We willed, We could have established angels on the earth instead of you. 60 And he ['Iesa (Jesus), son of Maryam (Mary)] shall be a known sign for (the coming of) the Hour (Day of Resurrection) [i.e. 'Iesa's (Jesus) descent on the earth]. Therefore have no doubt concerning it (i.e. the Day of Resurrection). And follow Me (Allah) (i.e. be obedient to Allah and do what He orders you to do, O mankind)! This is the Straight Path (of Islamic Monotheism, leading to Allah and to His Paradise). 61 Let not Satan bar you; he is for you a manifest foe. 62 When Jesus came with Clear Signs, he said: "Now have I come to you with Wisdom, and in order to make clear to you some of the (points) on which ye dispute: therefore fear Allah and obey me. 63 Allah is my Lord and your Lord; therefore, serve Him. That is the Straight Way.” 64 But parties from among them differed, so woe to those who were unjust because of the chastisement of a painful day. 65 Do they only wait for the Hour - that it should come on them all of a sudden, while they perceive not? 66 Friends on that day will be foes, one to another,- except the Righteous. 67
