Al-Dukhaan 2 of 3
Thus did We deliver the Children of Israel from the humiliating chastisement, 30 From Fir'awn; verily he was haughty and of the extravagant. 31 and We chose them, out of a knowledge, above all beings, 32 And sent them tokens to bring out the best in them. 33 As to these (Quraish), they say forsooth: 34 "There is no dying for us but once; and we shall not be raised again. 35 Bring back our fathers, if ye speak the truth! 36 Are they better than the people of Tubba, and those who had lived before them, whom We destroyed as they were sinners? 37 And We created not the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them, in play. 38 We created them in nothing else except the truth. But most do not know. 39 Verily, the Day of Judgement (when Allah will judge between the creatures) is the time appointed for all of them, 40 The day on which, no friends will benefit each other at all, nor will they be helped. (Except those who are pious – see verse 43:67) 41 except for those to whom God grants mercy. He is Majestic and All-merciful. 42

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
