We did deliver aforetime the Children of Israel from humiliating Punishment, 30 from Pharaoh, who ranked high in sin, 31 And We exalted them over the other people knowingly, 32 And gave signs to them in which there was a clear trial. 33 Yet these say: 34 "There is nothing but our first death, and we shall not be resurrected. 35 “Therefore bring back our forefathers, if you are truthful!” 36 Are they better or the people of Tubba' and those before them? We destroyed them because they were indeed Mujrimun (disbelievers, polytheists, sinners, criminals, etc.). 37 And We did not create the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them, just for play. 38 We have created them for a genuine purpose, but most people do not know. 39 Verily the Day of sorting out is the time appointed for all of them,- 40 The day when friend will help no friend in the least, nor will they be helped, 41 Except those upon whom Allah has mercy; indeed He only is the Most Honourable, the Most Merciful. 42
