And We delivered the Children of Israel from the shameful doom; 30 They (had experienced) under the Pharaoh. He was certainly a tyrant, guilty of excess. 31 We knowingly chose them above all other people 32 and sent them revelations of which some were a clear trial for them. 33 Yet these say: 34 "There is nothing but our first death, and we shall not be resurrected. 35 Bring back our fathers, if ye speak the truth! 36 Are they better or the people of Tubba and those afore them? We destroyed them; verily they were culprits. 37 It was not in idle sport that We created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them. 38 We did not create them except in Truth. But most of them do not know. 39 The Day of Final Decision is the appointed time for all; 40 the Day when a friend shall be of no avail to his friend nor shall they be helped, 41 Save him on whom Allah hath mercy. Lo! He is the Mighty, the Merciful. 42
