We saved the Children of Israel from their humiliating torment 30 From Firon; surely he was haughty, (and) one of the extravagant. 31 And We certainly chose them by knowledge over [all] the worlds. 32 And We gave them signs in which lay clear favours. 33 Yet those who deny the truth say, 34 'There is nothing except the first death, we shall never be revived. 35 Bring back to us our fathers if you are truthful.” 36 What! Are they better than the people of Tubba and those who were before them? We destroyed them because they were guilty of sin. 37 We created not the heavens, the earth, and all between them, merely in (idle) sport: 38 We created them not except for just ends: but most of them do not understand. 39 Verily the Day of sorting out is the time appointed for all of them,- 40 The day on which, no friends will benefit each other at all, nor will they be helped. (Except those who are pious – see verse 43:67) 41 Save those on whom Allah will have mercy. Verily He! He is the Mighty, the Merciful. 42
