So We saved the children of Israel from degrading suffering 30 From Fir'awn; verily he was haughty and of the extravagant. 31 and We chose them, out of a knowledge, above all beings, 32 and gave them signs wherein there was a manifest trial. 33 Most surely these do say: 34 "That [which is ahead of us] is but our first [and only] death, and we shall not be raised to life again. 35 "Then bring (back) our forefathers, if what ye say is true!" 36 Are they, then, better than the people of Tubba and those before them, whom We destroyed because they were truly lost in [the same] sin? 37 We created not the heavens, the earth, and all between them, merely in (idle) sport: 38 We created them not except with truth (i.e. to examine and test those who are obedient and those who are disobedient and then reward the obedient ones and punish the disobedient ones), but most of them know not. 39 Verily the Day of Distinction is the term appointed for all of them. 40 The Day when no protector can avail his client in aught, and no help can they receive, 41 Except him on whom Allah has Mercy. Verily, He is the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful. 42
