Al-Dukhaan 2 of 3
And We delivered the Children of Israel from the shameful doom; 30 from Pharaoh; surely he was a high One, of the prodigals; 31 And certainly We chose them, having knowledge, above the nations. 32 And We gave them of signs that in which there was a clear trial. 33 Yet these say: 34 "There is not but our first death, and we will not be resurrected. 35 Bring back to us our fathers if you are truthful.” 36 Are they better or the people of Tubba' and those before them? We destroyed them because they were indeed Mujrimun (disbelievers, polytheists, sinners, criminals, etc.). 37 And We created not the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them, in play. 38 We created them not except with truth (i.e. to examine and test those who are obedient and those who are disobedient and then reward the obedient ones and punish the disobedient ones), but most of them know not. 39 The appointed time for all of them will be the Day of Judgment 40 The day on which a friend shall not avail (his) friend aught, nor shall they be helped, 41 except for those to whom God grants mercy. He is Majestic and All-merciful. 42

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
