And indeed We have created man, and We know what his ownself whispers to him. And We are nearer to him than his jugular vein (by Our Knowledge). 16 (Remember!) that the two receivers (recording angels) receive (each human being after he or she has attained the age of puberty), one sitting on the right and one on the left (to note his or her actions). 17 He does not utter a single word, without a ready recorder seated next to him. 18 and (the human being will be told), "This is what you had been trying to run away from". 19 And the trumpet will be blown: this is the Day of the Threatening. 20 And every soul shall come, and with it a driver and a witness. 21 (It will be said to the sinners): "Indeed you were heedless of this, now We have removed your covering, and sharp is your sight this Day!" 22 His companion will say: "Here is (the record) I have ready with me." 23 "Cast into Hell every ungrateful, rebellious one, 24 Forbidder of good, exceeder of limits, doubter, 25 Who setteth up another god along with Allah. Do ye twain hurl him to the dreadful doom. 26 ۞ His companion will say: "O Lord, I did not lead him to wickedness, but he was himself far astray." 27 He saith: Contend not in My presence, when I had already proffered unto you the warning. 28 "The Word changes not before Me, and I do not the least injustice to My Servants." 29
