We verily created man and We know what his soul whispereth to him, and We are nearer to him than his jugular vein. 16 Moreover, there are two scribes, one each sitting on the right and the left, recording everything. 17 Man does not utter any word except that with him is an observer prepared [to record]. 18 And the stupor of death will come in truth; that is what you were trying to escape. 19 The trumpet will certainly be sounded. This will be the day (about which you) were threatened. 20 And every soul shall come, and with it a driver and a witness. 21 (And the driver will say:) "You were oblivious of this, so we have removed the veil, and how keen is your sight today!" 22 And his companion, [the angel], will say, "This [record] is what is with me, prepared." 23 (And it is said): Do ye twain hurl to hell each rebel ingrate, 24 "Hinderer of good, transgressor, doubter, 25 who has set up another god besides God: cast him into severe punishment" -- 26 ۞ His comrade saith: Our Lord! I did not cause him to rebel, but he was (himself) far gone in error. 27 He shall say, 'Dispute not before Me! For I sent you beforehand -- the threat. 28 The Sentence that comes from Me cannot be changed, and I am not unjust (to the least) to the slaves." 29
