Al-Saaffaat 4 of 5
And assuredly We gave grace unto Musa and Harun. 114 and We delivered both of them and their people from the great calamity. 115 And helped them so that they became the victors. 116 And We vouchsafed unto the twain a Book luminous. 117 And We guided them both on the right way. 118 and left for them among the later folk 119 "Peace be upon Moses and Aaron!" 120 This is how We reward the virtuous. 121 Verily the twain were of Our bondmen believing. 122 So also was Elias among those sent (by Us). 123 (Call to mind) when he said to his people: “Will you not fear Allah? 124 Do you worship Ba`al and abandon the Best Creator. 125 “Allah – Who is your Lord and the Lord of your forefathers?” 126 They denied him, and will surely be brought to punishment, 127 Except the chosen bondmen of Allah. 128 And We left for him among the posterity: 129 Peace be on Ilyas. 130 This is how We reward the virtuous. 131 for he was truly one of Our believing servants! 132 So also was Lut among those sent (by Us). 133 We saved him and all his people, 134 Except an old woman, who became of those who stayed behind. 135 Then We destroyed the rest [i.e. the towns of Sodom at the place of the Dead Sea (now) in Palestine]. [See the "Book of History" by Ibn Kathir]. 136 Verily, ye pass by their (sites), by day- 137 And during the night; so do you not have sense? 138
