And assuredly the dwellers of Hijr belied the sent ones. 80 We also gave them Our Signs, yet they turned away from them. 81 They hewed their dwellings out of the mountains in safety. 82 the blast overtook them early one morning. 83 And of no avail to them was all that they did (with such art and care)! 84 We did not create the heavens and the earth, and what is between them except in truth. The Hour is sure to come, therefore, forgive them with a gracious pardon. 85 Surely your Lord is the Creator of all things, the Knowing. 86 We have indeed bestowed on you the seven oft-repeated verses and the Great Qur'an. 87 [so] turn, not thine eyes [longingly] towards the worldly benefits which We have granted unto some of those [that deny the truth]. And neither grieve over those [who refuse to heed thee,] but spread the wings of thy tenderness over the believers, 88 And say: "I am indeed he that warneth openly and without ambiguity,"- 89 So We sent it down to the partitioners, 90 [and] who [now] declare this Qur'an to be [a tissue of] falsehoods! 91 Them, by thy Lord, We shall question, every one, 92 concerning that they were doing. 93 Proclaim then, what you are commanded and turn away from the unbelievers. 94 Indeed We suffice you against these mockers. 95 Who set up along with Allah another god; presently they shall know. 96 And assuredly We know that thou straitenest thy breast by that which they say. 97 Therefore celebrate the praise of your Lord, and be of those who make obeisance. 98 And serve your Lord until there comes to you that which is certain. 99
