Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the (Winds) that scatter broadcast; 1 and the burden-bearers 2 and the smooth runners 3 And those (angels) who distribute (provisions, rain, and other blessings) by (Allah's) Command; 4 Undoubtedly, the promise you are given is surely true. 5 and surely the Doom is about to fall! 6 The heavens webbed-with-tracks is witness 7 You are surely caught in contradictions., 8 Let whoever wishes, turn away from Our Quran. 9 Cursed be the liars, 10 Who are in a gulf (of ignorance) neglectful; 11 They ask: when is the Day of Requital coming? 12 [It is] the Day they will be tormented over the Fire 13 [and will be told:] "Taste this your trial! It is this that you were so hastily asking for!" 14 [But,] behold, the God-conscious will find themselves amid gardens and springs, 15 Taking joy in the things which their Lord has given them. Verily, they were before this Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 16 They used to sleep but little of the night, 17 and would ask for forgiveness at dawn, 18 And in their substance was the right of the beggar and non-beggar. 19 There are many Signs on earth for those of sure faith, 20 And also in your own selves. Behold ye not? 21 And in the heaven is your providence and that which ye are promised; 22 By the Lord of the heaven and the earth, it is certainly the truth. It is as true as your ability to speak. 23
