Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
I swear by the wind that scatters far and wide, 1 And those [clouds] carrying a load [of water] 2 then the easy runners (the ships); 3 And those who distribute (it) by command, 4 What you are threatened with is most surely true, 5 And verily Judgment and Justice must indeed come to pass. 6 By the beautiful heavens, 7 surely, you are in different sayings, 8 Turned aside therefrom is who is turned aside. 9 Slain be those who mould from their imaginations. 10 Those who are in heedlessness neglectful. 11 They ask: when is the Day of Requital coming? 12 (It will be) a Day when they will be tried (and tested) over the Fire! 13 (And told:) "Taste your punishment. This is what you were trying to hasten." 14 Indeed, the righteous will be among gardens and springs, 15 enjoying all that their Sustainer will have granted them [because,] verily, they were doers of good in the past: 16 they used to sleep but little by night, 17 and would pray for forgiveness from their innermost hearts; 18 They assigned a share of their property for the needy and the destitute. 19 In the earth are signs for those having sure faith; 20 and also in yourselves. Can you not see? 21 In heaven is your sustenance, and also that which you are promised. 22 So, by the Lord of the heaven and the earth, this is certainly true, as true as the fact of your speaking. 23
