Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the winds which scatter dust, 1 which carry clouds laden with water, 2 And those that glide with ease (upon the sea) 3 Then by oath of those which distribute by the command. 4 that what you are promised is certainly true 5 and the Day of Judgment will inevitably take place. 6 By heaven with all its tracks 7 Verily, [O men,] you are deeply at variance as to what to believe: 8 and are turned away from him who is turned. 9 Perish the conjecturers 10 who flounder in the depths of ignorance. 11 They ask: When is the day of judgment? 12 [It will be] a Day when they will be sorely tried by the fire, 13 And it will be said to them, “Taste your own roasting; this is what you were impatient for.” 14 Surely the godfearing shall be among gardens and fountains 15 enjoying all that their Sustainer will have granted them [because,] verily, they were doers of good in the past: 16 They were in the habit of sleeping but little by night, 17 And in the hour of early dawn, they (were found) praying for Forgiveness; 18 In whose wealth the suppliant and the deprived had a share. 19 On the earth, and in yourselves, 20 just as [there are signs thereof] within your own selves: can you not, then, see? 21 And in the heaven is your provision, and that which you are promised. 22 So by the Lord of heaven and earth, it is as true as your speech. 23
