Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the winds that scatter the dust, 1 And those who bear the load (of rain), 2 then the easy runners (the ships); 3 by the angels which distribute the affairs, 4 Verily, that which you are promised (i.e. Resurrection in the Hereafter and receiving the reward or punishment of good or bad deeds, etc.) is surely true. 5 And undoubtedly justice will surely be done. 6 The heavens webbed-with-tracks is witness 7 surely you are at variance (about the Hereafter); 8 Only those who are destined to revert, are reverted from it. 9 Perish will those who just guess and speculate, 10 who flounder in the depths of ignorance. 11 They ask, “When will be the Day of Judgement?” 12 (It will be) a Day when they will be tried (and tested) over the Fire! 13 Taste your persecution! this is what you would hasten on. 14 Indeed the pious are among Gardens and water springs. 15 Accepting what their Lord has given them. Indeed, they were before that doers of good. 16 They were in the habit of sleeping but little by night, 17 And in the dawns they prayed for forgiveness. 18 and in their wealth was a share for whosoever asked and for whosoever was prevented. 19 And in the earth there are signs for those who are sure, 20 and also in yourselves. Can you not see? 21 And in the heaven is your provision and whatever you are promised. 22 So by the Lord of heaven and earth, it is as true as your speech. 23
