Has there reached you the story of the honored guests of Abraham? - 24 When they entered upon him, they said: Peace. Peace, said he, a strange people. 25 So he turned to his household and brought a fattened calf. 26 He placed it before them. Then he said, "Why are you not eating?" 27 Then he conceived a fear of them. They said: fear not. And they gave him the tidings of a youth knowing. 28 His wife came forward, crying and beating her face, saying, "I am an old barren woman!" 29 They said: "Thus said your Lord. He is indeed all-wise and all-knowing." 30 ۞ (Abraham) said: And (afterward) what is your errand, O ye sent (from Allah)? 31 They said: Surely we are sent to a guilty people, 32 That we may send down upon them stones of baked clay. 33 Marked, from before thy Lord, for the extravagant. 34 Then We evacuated there from all the believers 35 But We did not find therein save a (single) house of those who submitted (the Muslims). 36 And We kept a sign remaining in it, for those who fear the painful punishment. 37 There is also evidence (of the Truth) in the story of Moses when We sent him to the Pharaoh with clear authority. 38 but he turned his back with his Assembly, saying: 'He is (either) a sorcerer or a mad man' 39 So We took him and his soldiers and cast them into the sea, and he was blameworthy. 40 And in 'Aad [was a sign], when We sent against them the barren wind. 41 that left nothing it came upon, but made it as stuff decayed. 42 And in Thamud's also was a lesson, when it was said unto them: enjoy yourselves for a season. 43 But they insolently defied the Command of their Lord: So the stunning noise (of an earthquake) seized them, even while they were looking on. 44 they could neither stand up straight, nor were they helped. 45 And before them, We destroyed the people of Nooh; they were indeed a sinning nation. 46
