Have you heard the story of the honorable guests of Abraham? 24 When they came to him, they said: “Peace”; he said: “Peace also be to you; (you seem to be) a group of strangers.” 25 Then he turned to his household and brought a fattened calf, 26 And placed it near them; he said, "Will you not eat?" 27 (When they did not eat), He conceived a fear of them. They said, "Fear not," and they gave him glad tidings of a son endowed with knowledge. 28 And his wife approached with a cry [of alarm] and struck her face and said, "[I am] a barren old woman!" 29 They said: Even so saith thy Lord. Lo! He is the Wise, the Knower. 30 ۞ He said: What is your affair then, O apostles! 31 They said: Lo! we are sent unto a guilty folk, 32 “To throw upon them stones of baked clay.” 33 marked out in thy Sustainer's sight for [the punishment of] such as have wasted their own selves." 34 So We brought the believers out of that they were in. 35 for apart from one [single] house We did not find there any who had surrendered themselves to Us. 36 And so We left therein a message for those who fear the grievous suffering [which awaits all evildoers]. 37 And in Moses (was another Sign): Behold, We sent him to Pharaoh, with authority manifest. 38 But he turned to his counsellors, and said: "He is a magician or lunatic." 39 So We took him and his soldiers and cast them into the sea, and he was blameworthy. 40 And in 'A-ad also was a lesson, when We sent against them the barren wind. 41 that left nothing it came upon, except that it was ashes. 42 And in Thamood it was said to them: 'Take your enjoyment for awhile' 43 Then they disdained the command of their Lord; wherefore the bolt laid hold of them even while they looked on. 44 Then they could not even stand (on their feet), nor could they help themselves. 45 The people of Noah who lived before them were also evil doing people. 46
