The Mountain (Al-Toor)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By oath of (mount) Tur. 1 And the Scripture inscribed 2 In an outstretched fine parchment, 3 by the established House (Mecca), 4 by the high ceiling (heaven), 5 Consider the surf-swollen sea! 6 verily your Lord's chastisement shall come to pass, 7 No one can avert it. 8 (It shall come to pass) on the Day when the heaven will convulse in a great convulsion, 9 And the mountains will move away with an awful movement. 10 Will be the day of woe for those 11 and who indulged in false disputes against (God's revelations). 12 the day when they shall be pitched into the fire of Gehenna: 13 (it will be said to them): 'This is the Fire which you belied! 14 Was it, then, a delusion or is it that you failed to see [its truth]? 15 Go now and burn in it. It is all the same whether you bear it patiently or do not bear it with patience. You are only being recompensed for your deeds.” 16 Verily the God-fearing will be in Gardens and Delight. 17 Rejoicing because of what their Lord gave them, and their Lord saved them from the punishment of the burning fire. 18 They will be told, "Eat and drink to your heart's delight for what you have done". 19 Reclining on couches ranged. And We shall couple them with maidens wide eyed. 20 And those who believed and whose descendants followed them in faith - We will join with them their descendants, and We will not deprive them of anything of their deeds. Every person, for what he earned, is retained. 21 And We will provide them with fruit and meat from whatever they desire. 22 There they pass from hand to hand a cup wherein is neither vanity nor cause of sin. 23 ۞ There will circulate among them [servant] boys [especially] for them, as if they were pearls well-protected. 24 And they will approach one another, inquiring of each other. 25 They will say: verily we were aforetime, midst our household, ever in dread. 26 But God has granted us favors and saved us from the scorching heat of the torment. 27 We had prayed to Him; He is Kind and All-merciful". 28
