So remind [O Muhammad], for you are not, by the favor of your Lord, a soothsayer or a madman. 29 Or they allege, “He is a poet – we await a calamity of the times to befall him.” 30 Say thou: wait verily I am, with you, among the waiters. 31 is it their minds that prompt them [to say] this, or are they merely insolent people? 32 Or do they say, "He has invented it himself"? Indeed, they are not willing to believe. 33 Then let them produce speech the like thereof, if they are truthful. 34 Or, were they created out of nothing? Or, were they their own creators? 35 Have they created the heavens and the earth? In fact, they have no strong faith. 36 Or are the Treasures of thy Lord with them, or are they the managers (of affairs)? 37 Or do they have a ladder (climbing which) they can hear (the secrets of heaven)? Let one who has heard then bring a clear proof. 38 Do the daughters belong to Him and the sons to you? 39 Or askest thou them for a wage, and so they are weighed down with debt? 40 Do they possess knowledge of the unseen, so that they can write it down? 41 Or do they want to stage a deception? -- Then only those who do not believe will be the ones who will be tricked. 42 Or have they any god beside Allah? Glorified be Allah from all that they ascribe as partner (unto Him)! 43 And if they were to see a fragment of the heaven falling, they would say: A heap of clouds. 44 So leave them alone until they encounter that Day of theirs, wherein they shall (perforce) swoon (with terror),- 45 A Day whereon their plotting will avail them not at all, nor will they be succoured. 46 And there surely awaits the evildoers a chastisement beyond even that, but most of them know it not. 47 Wait patiently for the command of your Lord. We are watching over you. Glorify your Lord when you rise during the night 48 And in the night time, also glorify His Praises, and at the setting of the stars. 49
