Therefore continue to give warning, for by the grace of your Lord, you are not a soothsayer or a madman. 29 Or do they say [of you], "A poet for whom we await a misfortune of time?" 30 Say, "Wait, for indeed I am, with you, among the waiters." 31 Is it their minds that bid them [to take] this [attitude] - or are they [simply] people filled with overweening arrogance? 32 Or do they say, "He has invented it himself"? Indeed, they are not willing to believe. 33 Then let them produce a statement like it, if they should be truthful. 34 [Or do they deny the existence of God?] Have they themselves been created without anything [that might have caused their creation]? or were they, perchance, their own creators? 35 Or did they create the heavens and the earth? Nay, but they have no firm Belief. 36 Or do they have your Lord's treasures in their keeping? Or have absolute authority over them? 37 Or have they a ladder by which they could [ascend to ultimate truths and] listen [to what is beyond the reach of human perception]? Let, then, any of them who have listened [to it] produce a manifest proof [of his knowledge]! 38 Or has He daughters while you have sons? 39 Or, do you ask them for a wage, so that they become weighed down in debt? 40 Is with them the Unseen, and they write it down! 41 Or do they want to entrap [thee in contradictions]? But they who are bent on denying the truth - it is they who are truly entrapped! 42 Or have they any god beside Allah? Glorified be Allah from all that they ascribe as partner (unto Him)! 43 And if they should see a fragment of the heaven falling down, they would say: it is only clouds piled up. 44 Leave them then till they meet that day of theirs wherein they shall be made to swoon (with terror): 45 the day when their guile shall avail them naught, and they shall not be helped. 46 And verily, for those who do wrong, there is another punishment (i.e. the torment in this world and in their graves) before this, but most of them know not. [Tafsir At-Tabari, Vol. 27, Page 36]. 47 And be patient, [O Muhammad], for the decision of your Lord, for indeed, you are in Our eyes. And exalt [Allah] with praise of your Lord when you arise. 48 And in the night, give Him glory too, and at the setting of the stars. 49
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
