The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ When the heaven is split asunder, 1 And it listens to the command of its Lord – and that befits it. 2 And when the earth is stretched forth, 3 and casts forth whatever is in it, and becomes utterly void, 4 And it listens to the command of its Lord – and that befits it. 5 O mankind, indeed you are laboring toward your Lord with [great] exertion and will meet it. 6 And as for him whose record shall be placed in his right hand, 7 shall have an easy reckoning 8 and he will return to his family joyfully. 9 And as to him who is given his book behind his back, 10 shall cry for “perdition,” 11 and roast at the Blaze. 12 Verily, he was among his people in joy! 13 he surely thought he would never revert. 14 This is a fact. Their Lord is Well-Aware of (all that they do). 15 Nay; I swear by the twilight; 16 by the night and what it covers, 17 and by the moon, when it reaches its fullness: 18 that you will certainly pass through one stage after another. 19 But what is the matter with them that they do not believe, 20 and when the Qur'an is recited to them, they do not prostrate themselves? ۩ 21 But those who have disbelieved deny, 22 Whereas Allah knoweth best that which they cherish. 23 So give them tidings of a painful doom, 24 Except to those who believe and work righteous deeds: For them is a Reward that will never fail. 25
