Therefore (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), enlighten, for by the munificence of your Lord, you are neither a soothsayer nor a madman. 29 Or do they say:- "A Poet! we await for him some calamity (hatched) by Time!" 30 Tell them: "Keep on expecting, I am expecting with you." 31 Or do their intellects bid them do this? Or are they an insolent people? 32 Or say they: He hath invented it? Nay, but they will not believe! 33 Let them produce a scripture like it, if what they say is true. 34 Or, were they created out of nothing? Or, were they their own creators? 35 Created they the heavens and the earth! Aye! they will not be convinced. 36 Or are thy Lord's treasuries in their keeping? Or are they the registrars? 37 Or have they a ladder, by which they can (climb up to heaven and) listen (to its secrets)? Then let (such a) listener of theirs produce a manifest proof. 38 Hath He daughters and ye sons? 39 Or do you demand any wages from them so that they are burdened with expense? 40 Or that the Ghaib (unseen) is with them, and they write it down? 41 Or do they want to stage a deception? -- Then only those who do not believe will be the ones who will be tricked. 42 Or have they a deity other than Allah? Exalted is Allah above whatever they associate with Him. 43 And if they were to see a fragment of the heaven falling, they would say: A heap of clouds. 44 Wherefore let them alone, till they meet their Day whereon they shall swoon. 45 The Day when their plotting shall not avail them at all nor will they be helped (i.e. they will receive their torment in Hell). 46 Surely a chastisement awaits the wrong-doers even before the coming of that Day; but most of them do not know. 47 And be thou patient under the judgment of thy Lord; surely thou art before Our eyes. And proclaim the praise of thy Lord when thou arisest, 48 Extol His glory at night, and at the setting of the stars. 49
