Therefore proclaim thou the praises (of thy Lord): for by the Grace of thy Lord, thou art no (vulgar) soothsayer, nor art thou one possessed. 29 Or do they say: 'He is a poet, we are waiting for some misfortune to befall him' 30 Say: Wait, for surely I too with you am of those who wait. 31 Nay! do their understandings bid them this? Or are they an inordinate people? 32 Or do they say, "He fabricated the (Message)"? Nay, they have no faith! 33 But then, [if they deem it the work of a mere mortal,] let them produce another discourse like it - if what they say be true! 34 Were they created by nothing, or were they themselves the creators? 35 Or did they create the heavens and the earth? Rather, they are not certain. 36 Do they own the treasures of your Lord? Have they any authority over God? 37 Or, do they have a ladder on which they listen? Then let any of them that has listened bring a clear authority. 38 Or has He daughters while you have sons? 39 Or askest thou (Muhammad) a fee from them so that they are plunged in debt? 40 Do they have knowledge of the unseen, thus, are able to predict (the future)? 41 Do they design evil plans? The disbelievers themselves will be snared by their evil plots. 42 Or have they a god other than Allah? Glory be to Allah from what they set up (with Him). 43 AND YET, if they [who refuse to see the truth] were to see part of the sky falling down, they would [only] say: "[It is but] a mass of clouds!" 44 so leave them alone till they face the Day on which they will be struck dumb, 45 A day on which their scheming will not benefit them at all, nor will they be helped. 46 And verily for those who do wrong there is a torment before that; but most of them know not. 47 Await the judgement of your Lord, for you are always before Our eyes, and glorify your Lord with praises when you rise, 48 and glorify Him after the setting of the stars. 49
