The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
I CALL TO witness the heavens and the night Star -- 1 And have you understood what the nightly arriver is? 2 It is the star shining brightly. 3 There is not a soul but over it is a keeper. 4 So let man observe from what he was created. 5 He is created of water pouring forth, 6 That issued from between the loins and ribs. 7 God has all power to resurrect him. 8 On the Day when man's deepest secrets shall be put to the test 9 and he shall have no strength, no helper. 10 By the sky which returns [rain] 11 And [by] the earth which cracks open, 12 Verily! This (the Quran) is the Word that separates (the truth from falsehood, and commands strict legal laws for mankind to cut the roots of evil). 13 and is no idle tale. 14 They are devising a guile, 15 But I am planning a plan. 16 So give a respite to the disbelievers. Deal you gently with them for a while. 17
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
