The Stars (Al-Najm)
62 verses, revealed in Mecca after Absoluteness (Al-Ikhlaas) before He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By oath of the beloved shining star Mohammed (peace and blessings be upon him), when he returned from the Ascent. 1 That your companion is not confused, nor has he gone astray, 2 And he does not say anything by his own desire. 3 It is naught save an inspiration that is inspired, 4 and taught to him 5 Endued with Wisdom: for he appeared (in stately form); 6 being on the higher horizon. 7 Then he drew near and hung above suspended, 8 until he was as close to him as the distance of two bows, or even less. 9 then revealed to his servant that he revealed. 10 His (Muhammad's) heart did not lie to him about what his eyes had seen. 11 Will you then argue with him about what he saw? 12 And verily he saw him yet another time 13 At the Lote Tree of the Utmost Boundary - 14 Nigh thereto is the Garden of Abode. 15 when there covered the Lote-Tree that which covered; 16 (His) sight never swerved, nor did it go wrong! 17 for indeed he saw one of the greatest signs of his Lord. 18 Have you considered El-Lat and El-'Uzza 19 And subsequently the third, the Manat? 20 What! for you the males and for Him the females! 21 That is indeed an unfair division! 22 These are only names which you and your fathers have invented. No authority was sent down by God for them. They only follow conjecture and wish-fulfilment, even though guidance had come to them already from their Lord. 23 Does man imagine that whatever he wishes for is right for him? 24 But it is to God that the Hereafter and this world belong. 25

عند قراءة القرآن الملون في وضعية اللغة العربية المرسومة بالأحرف الإنجليزية، قد لا تلاحظ وجود منظومة برمجية مصممة لمطابقة متطلبات علامات الوقف في النص العربي الأصلي. فكما تعلم، يحتوي القرآن على خمسة أنواع رئيسية من علامات الوقف. (1) وقف لازم، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي نقطة وقف. (2) وقف جائز مع الوقف أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلثين. When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
